The wind was cold, as it usually was in Ireland. The sparkling blue sky, with the radiant sun blazing down. I just moved here from Wales. My name? Well it's Mimi, Mimi Spail. My mum wanted to move to Ireland a long time ago, but my dad took the liberty to only send my brother. He lives up in Northern Ireland, in a city called...Derry if I remember right. Well my dad died last month according to my brother when he called me just before we were getting on our plane in Wales to come here. He's living with a friend now just outside Derry while me and mum are down here in Dublin. Mum said that he'd be fine, so instead of moving to Derry like I wanted to, I get to live here in Dublin. It's a nice place, but still, I'd rather be with my brother anyhow.  School starts tommarow, and I'm not excited in the least bit. I have problems making friends and all my friends live across the god damn ocean in Wales. I don't really want to go to a new school, but I guess I don't have choice, do I?

Chapter 1 Mystery of Dublin High [WIP]

"MIMI! OUT OF BED, NOW!" a voice yelled up the stairs. Mimi poked her head out from underneath the sheet. "Coming mum! Keep your underware on!" she howled at the door. She managed to roll herself out of the bed, and fell to the floor with a rather spectacular thud. "Ow.." she moaned rubbing her head gingerly. As she hoisted herself to her feet she heard her favorite song being played by her mother down in the kitchen.

"And we're still at it in our own place
Still tryin' to reach the future through the past
Still tryin' to carve tomorrow from a tombstone...

But Hey! Don't listen to me! this wasn't meant to be no sad song ."

Mimi smiled lightly to herself as she began to gather her uniform from her closet. 'Red and white. What the hell kinda school colors are those?' Mimi asked herself as she went into the bathroom to change.

"And I guess these young boys dying in the ditches Is just what being free is all about
And how this twisted wreckage down on main street Will bring us all together in the end
And we'll go marching down the road to freedom... Freedom....... Freedom"

As Mimi emerged from the bathroom she heard the song end. She strolled over to her large stand up mirror and looked into it. She turned this way, and that way smoothing out her skirt as she did so. When she'd finished getting dressed, she grabbed her bag and walked down to the kitchen where her mother had just set her breakfest on the table. "Eggs, bacon, and juice. The usual 'Before School' meal" she chuckled at her mother as she sat down. "Never gonna change are you mum?" A tall woman with long black hair turned to face her daughter. Her eyes were narrow and a brilliant shade of green. A smile began to play the corners of her mouth as she walked over to where the table was. "I supposed not" she remarked in a "As a matter of fact" tone. Mimi watched her mother walked back over to the counter to change the song. As the music started she knew it right away, "Young Love". She began to sway in time with the music while eating a slice of bacon. Her mother smiled back at her happily as her daughter ate her meal and bobbed her head to the song. As Mimi finished off her juice she caught site of the clock. "Oh my god! I'm going to be late!" she jumped up from her seat, grabbing her bag. "Bye mum see you after school!" Mimi gave a quick wave and bolted for the front door as "Young Love" finished playing. "Have a good day and be careful!" her mother yelled back to her. "Ok!" came Mimi's reply just before shutting the door. She ran to the side walk and then took off down the street. She looked around her as she ran, trying to watch for landmarks that would help her find her school.

As she got closer to the school she slowed down to a gentle walk. As she turned on corner she noticed The Helix theatre at Dublin City University. Her mother had gone there once with her father. Not that long ago either. She'd wanted to go too, but her mother made her stay with a family friend instead. And because her brother already lived in Ireland, she was all alone. She sighed as she got one last look at it before turning yet another corner, her back now to the grand Helix theatre.

After walking for what seemed like hours, she arrived at a building with four floors. 'Damn...a huge school. Wonderful. Just another place to be treated like a outcast..' Mimi though miserably swinging her bag over her shoulder and strolling in through the front doors. As she entered as plesent warm air came over her. The halls were quite wide and painted a sort of cross between a red and peach. Mimi shivered and walked into the office to be given the schedual of all her classes. When she got the paper she bowed slightly, then went back into the hall. Her eyes traveled down to the paper in her hand. "4-A?!" Mimi shouted, making heads turn to look at her. "I'm on the top floor!" she moaned leaning against a nearby wall. Sighing in a depressed sort of tone she began to walk up the stairs. People passed and looked at her just as everyone else in Wales did. She could hear the usual conversation - "Look at her, she's so strange." "Where'd she come from? Not here obviously". Honestly Mimi was so used to it by this point in her life, that she didn't even dare cry about it. Of course she never told her mother people talked about her like this either. No need to worry her. As she began to climb the last round of stairs a boy with brilliant red hair appeared at her side with a wide grin plastered to his face.  "Dear god!" Mimi said grabbing onto the railing. "Who are you?" The boy chuckled happily at her. "Dan Kima" he replied holding out his hand. Mimi took it in hers and shook it. "What class do you have first?" Dan asked walking up the stairs. Mimi began to follow as she looked at her schedual. "English" came her dull reply. "That's what I have too!" he stated stopping at the top of the stairs. "Follow me, it's this way".

Mimi followed Dan up the stairs to top floor. Dan gave a wave and then ran down the hall to the first door on the left. The plauge outside the door read 'Miss Cáit Room 4-A'. "How do you say her name Dan?" Mimi asked, staring at the plauge with an odd look on her face. "Her English name is Kate" he smiled opening the door so Mimi could walk in first. "Thanks..." she said walking into the room. It was brighter. A hell of a lot brighter than she liked that's for sure. The walls of the room were covered in posters with inspiring quotes. Mimi glanced now to the front of the room. There Cáit sat, tapping a pen on her desk. "Welcome! Now sit!" she pointed the pen at the two front desks. Mimi quickly took her seat and Dan promptly seated himself in the desk next to her. Cáit came and pointed her pencil at Mimi. "NAME!" "Mimi..."
